About the RIGGS Cup
The RIGGS Cup has been a big part of our personal story here at Totem and the Leeton/Griffth community for the last 24 years!
Richard O’Hara(Riggs) was by far one of the best skaters in the area when we were growing up. Riggs was one of those guys who was frighteningly great at everything he tried. Unfortunately, Richie took his own life at the peak of his skating and Basketball career. Having this happen to such an inspirational young person hit the community hard, so we decided to celebrate Richard’s life in a yearly Skate comp and named it the RIGGS Cup.
The first RIGGS cup was in 2003, just 3 years after we had finished the new skatepark. It was a massive event that brought communities around the area together to celebrate Richie’s life and shine a light on mental health. It was a beautiful day that has become part of the area’s story and a cornerstone of our work at Totem.
Thanks to the @leetonshirecouncil for supporting this event over the last 24 years. Also, thanks to the awesome @rapidreliefteamau team for being apart of the day, cooking up some meals.
Loads of good times & giveaways from our friends at

We hope to see you there!

ABOUT THE LEARN TO SKATE CLASSES
We believe in having a go, so students are encouraged to go at their own pace under the guidance of our coaches. By combining both the physical and creative elements of skateboarding, Totem gives students the opportunity to try out and practice a wide and unique variety of skills to build self-esteem in a fun, safe, and supported environment.
ABOUT THE SELF-EXPRESSION JAM SESSION
This is not a class, but a chance for participants to have extra support to focus on their own progression. Giving them the experience of a comp setting with loads of prize giveaways to be won. The session will help to boost their confidence and become familiar with and keep the momentum going to move to the next level of competing in bigger jams and comps. All while highlighting and appreciating the time, energy, and effort they have put into getting good at skating.
WHAT CLASS SHOULD I REGISTER FOR?
We have created this simple guide to help you decide what class will be best suited for you/your child.
Our beginner class is for skill level 0 to 1 and the intermediate class and self-expression jam session is for skill level 2 to 3.
Level 0 - The Newcomer
New to skateboarding and has no experience. Might have had a go but uncomfortable.
Level 1 - Beginner
Has skated a few times, limited experience, and needs to build confidence and skillset
Level 2 - Transition into Intermediate
Knows the foundational skills and wants to start exploring tricks.
Level 3 - Intermediate
Is confident on a skateboard, knows the foundational skills, a few tricks, and wants to advance to the next level.

ABOUT THIS EVENT
Come get involved and celebrate the 23rd Annual Riggs Cup for Youth Week 2025!

Come sharpen your skills, meet the crew, and throw down your best tricks. All skill levels are welcome—don’t miss out! 🚀
About the RIGGS Cup
The RIGGS Cup has been a big part of our personal story here at Totem and the Leeton/Griffth community for the last 23 years!
Thanks to the @leetonshirecouncil for supporting this event over the last 23 years. Also, thanks to @boystothebush for supporting the event and the awesome @rapidreliefteamau team for supplying the FREE BURGERS on the day.
Loads of good times & giveaways from our friends at

We hope to see you there!
