FREE 2-Day Youth Week Community Event

Get ready Muswellbrook! Totem Skateboarding is rolling in for an EPIC 2-day Youth Week celebration packed with creativity, progression and serious skatepark energy.

This is more than just a workshop! It is a powerful community-focused activation designed to build confidence, spark creativity and empower young people through skateboarding, art and connection.

Across two massive days, young people will design and build their own skateboard, develop real skills with professional mentors, connect with elite skateboarders and be part of an inclusive, high-energy skatepark experience that celebrates Youth Week the right way.

We would like to sincerely thank Upper Hunter Community Services Inc for funding and supporting this epic 2-day community celebration and for investing in opportunities that empower and uplift local young people.

πŸ”₯ Day 1: CREATE. BUILD. SKATE
Participants will receive a FULL Complete Skateboard valued at $149.95 and take part in our hands-on Create Workshop.

You will:
β€’ Design your own skateboard deck
β€’ Paint and customise it with professional materials
β€’ Learn how to build and set up your board
β€’ Finish the day with a guided Learn to Skate session focused on safety and confidence

πŸ”₯ Day 2: LEARN TO SKATE, MENTORING + JAM.
Day 2 is all about progression, confidence and community.

You will experience:
β€’ A structured Beginner Learn to Skate lesson
β€’ Mentoring Session with elite skateboarders

β€’ Prizes and giveaways from our sponsors

Totem Skateboarding is a family-run Australian social enterprise delivering high-quality, inclusive skate events across NSW. Our programs remove barriers to participation and create safe, supportive spaces where everyone can have a go.


All equipment supplied.

Workshops are for ages 6 years and up!

All skill levels welcome.
Spots are extremely limited - bookings essential.

Design your own Skateboard Schedule

CREATE Workshop – Deck Design (Part 1)

Deck Design (Part 2)

11:45 – 12:00 pm
Paint Drying Break

12:00 pm – 12:30 pm
Skateboard Build Workshop

12:45 pm – 1:45 pm
SKATE Workshop – Learn to Skate (Safety Session)

A separate marquee will be available for younger siblings or children who don’t want to try skating this time. This space will have a colouring-in area set up so they can relax and have fun.

*Times may vary on the day, so be sure to register for an epic day out!

DAY #2

10:00 am – 10:15 am: Beginner Workshop registration

10:15 am – 11:15 am: Beginner Workshop (1 hr class. Suitable for skill level 0 to 1.)

11:15 am – 11:30 am: Beginner / Intermediate "mentoring" class registration

11:30 am – 12:15 pm: Mentoring class for beginner and intermediate skaters (45 min class. Suitable for skill level 1 to 3.)

12:15 pm – 12:30 pm: Skate JAM registration

12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Skate JAM Session (1hr Session. Suitable for ages 6 and up, skill level 0 - 3)

1:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Demo and Community Interaction

Bookings: Spots are limited ~ register via Eventbrite to secure your place.

Weather: This is an outdoor event and may be postponed or cancelled due to wet weather (anywhere from 48 to 2 hours before the event).
We cannot skate on wet ground for safety reasons.

Equipment: Professional-grade skateboards, helmets, and safety pads (optional) are supplied. You’re also welcome to bring your own gear.

WHAT CLASS SHOULD I REGISTER FOR?

We have created this simple guide to help you decide which class will be best suited for you/your child.

Our beginner class is for skill level 0 to 1, and the intermediate class and self-expression jam session are for skill level 2 to 3.

Level 0 - The Newcomer

New to skateboarding and has no experience. Might have had a go, but feels uncomfortable on a board.

Level 1 - Beginner

Has skated a few times, with limited experience, and needs to practice to build more confidence and a basic skill set(foot & body positions).

Level 2 - Transition into Intermediate

Knows the foundational skills(tick tac, calving, etc) and wants to start exploring tricks such as ollies, drop-ins, etc.

Level 3 - Intermediate

Is confident on a skateboard, knows the foundational skills(tick tac, calving, etc), a few tricks(ollies, drop-ins, etc), and wants to advance to the next level(flip tricks, grinds,
