FAQs

  • Yes, bookings are essential for all our classes and we highly recommend that you register for the class/es that you want to participate in as they tend to fill up fast.

  • Our beginner class is for skill level 0 to 1 and the intermediate class is for skill level 2 to 3.

    Level 0 - The Newcomer
New to skateboarding and has no experience. Might have had a go but uncomfortable.

    Level 1 - Beginner
Has skated a few times, limited experience, and needs to build confidence and skillset

Level 2 - Transition into Intermediate
Knows the foundational skills and wants to start exploring tricks

    Level 3 - Intermediate
Is confident on a skateboard, knows the foundational skills, a few tricks, and wants to advance to the next level.

We ask you to only register for the class that is suitable for your ability. That way the session is run to cater to everyone and nobody gets left behind.

  • Community Events and Group Classes: Ages 6 years and up (there is no maximum age limit).

Private Lessons: Ages 5 years and up (there is no maximum age limit).

Please note: Some events are targeted to specific age groups and will state it on the event poster.

  • Your ticket, a hat, sunscreen, refillable water bottle, and snacks.

We supply all necessary equipment for our sessions (skateboard, helmet, and safety pads). However, feel free to bring along your own board or helmet so the coaches can do a quick safety check.

  • We suggest you wear comfortable clothing and closed shoes such as sneakers/trainers suitable for active activities.

  • Yes, you need to complete a waiver form before you can start skating in any session. You must do so every time you register for an event.

To fill out the form online prior to the event head over to our online registration form here.

  • Check out our event calendar. We are constantly updating and adding the events we have planned, so keep checking.

  • Unfortunately, if an event is fully booked we cannot accept any more bookings. We have waitlists on all of our events. Add yourself to the waitlist and if someone cancels their ticket you could take their place. Otherwise check out the other events we have coming up.

  • If you have registered for an event and can't make it anymore, we ask that you cancel your ticket through Eventbrite.

We often sell out and people are then put onto a waitlist. If you cancel your ticket it means someone else can come to the event.

If you are having difficulty canceling your ticket please contact us at bookings@totemskateboarding.com

  • We no longer offer private lessons as a part of our regular programing. Since 2023 we are STOKED to announce that ALL of our sessions, Lessons, comp, activations and Demos 100% FREE for the community.

Most of our coaches do offer coaching through their own company, in their own areas.

Please contact the coaches directly for more information.

  • It is not safe to skate in the rain…

Community Events and Group lessons: We will be in contact with you via email to let you know if the workshop has been postponed due to wet or extreme weather. This usually happens 24 hours to 72 hours in advance.

Private lessons: The coach you are booked in with will let you know via text message or email up to 24 hours prior to your lesson. And your lesson will be rescheduled for another suitable time.
