COME CELEBRATE WITH FREE ~ TOTEM SKATE SESSIONS with Pro riders
Join Totem Skateboarding for a free afternoon of Skateboarding festivities as part of the official opening of the new Gunyama Park Skate Spot!
This opening is especially meaningful for the Totem team. Around 10 years ago, Totem’s Director Nigel Cameron helped establish the Sydney Skateboard Association alongside members of the local skate community, Cameron Sparkes and Trent Evans, to advocate for improved skate facilities across the City of Sydney. Gunyama Park was one of the skate projects to grow from that movement, so we are incredibly proud to help officially open the space and see it finally come to life - 10 years on!
Whether you are stepping on a skateboard for the first time, looking to build your skills, or ready to SHRED the JAMS, there is something for everyone!
1:00 pm - 1.30 pm - Beginner and Mentoring session *ALL registrations are walk-ups
(ONLY - 20 students per class - 10 x Beginners & 10 x intermediate Skateboarders)
1.30 pm - 2.15 pm - SKATE SESSIONS INCLUDE:
1 x Beginner Skateboarding Class(10 x spots)
1 x Intermediate Skateboarding Class(10 x spots)
2:00 pm - 2:15 pm - JAM registration *ALL registrations are walk-ups
2.15 pm - 3:00 pm - JAM (30 participants MAX) 10 minutes per obstacle x 3 obstacles
(Each participant or their guardian will need to sign an online waiver form)

Mentoring sessions with PRO CHIMA FERGUSON & AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC Skateboarder OLIVIA LOVELACE, as well as NAKULA BOAG and CLAUDIA STANGER
Whether you're stepping on a board for the first time or just want to be part of a positive community environment, there’s something here for everyone.
Who can join:
Open to ages 6+ for Beginner/ Mentoring session
Advanced Skaters welcome for the JAM session
Skateboards, helmets and pads will be available for the Beginner Learn to Skate session only. We recommend bringing your own if you have them.
Sessions are WALK-IN ONLY - 10 x Beginner students for the Beginner session and 10 x spots for the Mentoring Session. So please arrive early and speak to the team to get your spot.
No waiver, no skate.
Come down, get involved, and be part of the Gunyama Park OPENING!
There’ll be a big festival atmosphere with a live DJ, roving entertainers, kids activities, skating workshops with walk-up registration and food perfect for a picnic.
Clover Moore AO, Lord Mayor of Sydney, will officially open the park at 1.45 pm.
WAIVER FORM - Participants must complete our online waiver form herebefore they can skate. Please try to have this done before you get to the skatepark.
THE WAIVER FORM IS NOT A TICKET.
Spots are limited - NO PRE BOOK AVAILABLE
Equipment: Professional-grade skateboard, helmet, and safety pads (optional) are provided for the beginner class. You are also welcome to bring your own equipment.
