Come along to the Tuncurry Skatepark for a FREE SKATE~CREATE~EMPOWER day for Youth Week 2025!
Join us for an exciting Skate Workshop & Jam at Tuncurry Skatepark! Open to all skill levels—whether you're just starting out or a seasoned skater, there's something for everyone.
Enjoy a free BBQ provided by Homebase Forster and Forster Neighbourhood Centre. Bring your board (or borrow one of ours), bring your friends, and make a day of it!

All equipment supplied. Workshops are for ages 12 years to 24 years
EVENT SCHEDULE
9:00 AM – Event Opening (2-5 min)
9:00 AM - 9:15 AM (15 min) – Beginner Class Registration
TOTEM Equipment: Hand out helmets, skateboards, and pads as needed.
9:15 AM - 10:15 AM (60 min) – Beginner Skate Class (Level 0-1)
Focus: Basic skills, balance, pushing, stopping, and skatepark etiquette.
10:15 AM - 10:20 AM (5 min) – Break & Skate Demo
Watch experienced skaters in action!
10:20 AM - 10:30 AM (10 min) – Mentoring Session Prep
TOTEM Equipment: Hand out helmets, skateboards, and pads as needed.
10:30 AM - 11:15 AM (45 min) – Mentoring Session (Level 2-3)
Focus: Tricks, board control, and progression techniques.
11:15 AM - 11:30 AM (15 min) – Break
12:20 PM - 1:00 PM (40 min) – Free Community BBQ 🌭🔥
Enjoy a BBQ and connect with the skate community.
JAM SESSION SCHEDULE
1:00 PM - 1:15 PM (15 min) – Jam Prep
1:15 PM - 1:25 PM (10 min) – Scooter Jam Warm-Up & Rules
1:25 PM - 1:50 PM (25 min) – Scooter Jam
Format: 5-7 minutes per obstacle, rotating through 3 obstacles.
1:50 PM - 2:00 PM (10 min) – BMX Jam Warm-Up & Rules
2:00 PM - 2:20 PM (20 min) – BMX Jam
Format: 5-7 minutes per obstacle, rotating through 3 obstacles.
2:20 PM - 2:30 PM (10 min) – Skateboard Jam Warm-Up & Rules
2:30 PM - 2:50 PM (20 min) – Skateboard Jam
Format: 5-7 minutes per obstacle, rotating through 3 obstacles.
2:50 PM - 3:00 PM (10 min) – Community Interaction & Event Close
Giveaways, stickers, and Q&A with the crew.
WAIVER FORM - Participants must complete our online waiver form here before they can skate. Please try to have this done before you get to the skatepark.
THE WAIVER FORM IS NOT A TICKET.
Spots are limited, and bookings are essential via our Eventbrite page.
* This is an outdoor event. Postponement and cancellation is subject to weather conditions and can happen anywhere from 48 hours to 2 hours before a workshop. We cannot skate in the rain or on wet grounds.
Equipment: Professional grade Skateboard, helmet, and safety pads (optional) are provided for all classes. You are also welcome to bring your own equipment.
