FREE Community Skate Workshop – Port Kembla Skatepark Launch

Get ready to roll! Come along to the brand new Port Kembla Skatepark for an epic FREE Learn to Skate Workshop thanks to BighART and friends.
Whether you're just finding your feet or already shredding curbs, this is the perfect chance to skate with professional instructors, build confidence, and have a blast in a safe and supportive space.
What to Expect:
All-ages Learn to Skate classes (ages 6 and up)
High-quality gear supplied (skateboard, helmet, safety pads)
Bring your own equipment if preferred
Live DJs, food, prizes, and demos all day
Bring your crew, bring your energy – and let’s celebrate the launch of Port Kembla’s amazing new skate space together.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
12:00 pm – 12:15 pm: Skatepark Opening - Welcome / Introduction
12:15 pm – 12:30 pm: Beginner class registration
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Beginner class(1 hr class. Suitable for skill level 0 to 1.)
1:30 pm – 2:00 pm: FREE SKATE
2:00 pm – 2:15 pm: Beginner / Intermediate "mentoring" class registration
2:15 pm – 3:00 pm: Mentoring class for beginner and intermediate skaters(45 min class. Suitable for skill level 1 to 3.)
3:00 pm – 3:15 pm: SKATE DEMO
3:15 pm – 3:30 pm: Self Expression JAM session registration – Skate JAM(Open to all ages. Suitable for skill level 2 to 3)
3:30 pm – 4:30 pm: Self Expression JAM session
4:30 pm – 5:00 pm: Sticker handout and Community Interaction

WAIVER FORM - Participants must complete our online waiver form here before they can skate. Please try to have this done before you get to the skatepark.
THE WAIVER FORM IS NOT A TICKET.
Spots are limited, and bookings are essential via our Eventbrite page.
* This is an outdoor event. Postponement and cancellation is subject to weather conditions and can happen anywhere from 48 hours to 2 hours before a workshop. We cannot skate in the rain or on wet grounds.
Equipment: Professional grade Skateboard, helmet, and safety pads (optional) are provided for all classes. You are also welcome to bring your own equipment.
