Empowering Youth Through Skateboarding: Free Learn to Skate Workshops

Join us at the official opening of Dimeny Park, now upgraded with a brand-new skate ramp for everyone to enjoy.

With the support from Landcom, we will be delivering FREE Learn to Skateboard programs at the Official opening of the NEW Dimenity Park Skatepark.

Our Skateboarding events and programs are designed to help create safe, engaging spaces for young people to grow and thrive.

These FREE workshops provide a fun, inclusive space where young people can build confidence, learn new skills, and connect with their community.

It’ll be a free, family-friendly day packed with activities, with Totem Skate’s workshops as the main event—open to all ages and skill levels!

• Welcome to Country by Aunty Glenda Chalker

• smoking ceremony by Uncle John Lamb

• skate workshops and professional demos by Totem Skateboarding

• free face painting by Kozi & Pinky Entertainment

• free sausage sizzle

• free coffee cart

Bookings for the Skateboarding workshops are essential and exclusively for Claymore community members.

ALL WELCOME TO ENJOY THE OPENING EVENT AND BBQ

ALL other activities are first-come, first-served.

SCHEDULE

10:00 am: Event Opening

10:00 am - 10:15 am: Beginner class registration

10:15 am - 11:15 am: Beginner class (1hr class. Suitable for newcomers and beginner skaters with little to no experience on a board and at a skatepark.)

11:15 am - 11:40 am Event Official Opening

• Welcome to Country by Aunty Glenda Chalker

• Smoking Ceremony by Uncle John Lamb

11:40 am - 11:45 am: Skate Demo

11:45 am - 12:00 noon: Mentoring Session registration

12:00 noon - 1:00 pm: Mentoring Session for Intermediate Skaters (1hr class. Suitable for skaters who know the foundational skills and want to start exploring tricks and advance to the next level.)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

WAIVER FORM - Participants must complete our online waiver form here before they can skate. Please try to have this done before you get to the skatepark.

THE WAIVER FORM IS NOT A TICKET.

Spots are limited and bookings are essential via Eventbrite for the Claymore Community.

* This is an outdoor event. Postponement and cancellation is subject to weather conditions and can happen anywhere from 48 hours to 2 hours before a workshop. We cannot skate in the rain or on wet grounds.

Equipment: Professional-grade equipment; a skateboard, a helmet, and safety pads (optional) are provided for all classes.
